So
it may just be my personal decision, but when deciding on what pet
you would like to introduce to your family let me break some of
the pros and cons down for you in regards to cats and dogs.
Dogs
unfortunately have a lot of cons in my minds eye, the fact that
they most of them are very loud (you will no doubt be hearing from
your neighbours a lot more than you would ever want to), they also
tend to smell, and need a lot of exercise and aren’t very
independent. So if your not one for big vet bills, big food bills,
and going for walks at least once a day (even in freezing cold winter
time!) an even worse con is that most dogs work on a timetable (especially
for those indoor dogs) so that you would be home at the same time
every day!
Honestly
having thought about it for the last wee while, I really can not
think of a pro reason for wanting a dog! (Sorry to all those dog
lovers out there reading this!)
Now
as you probably are aware by now, I am most definitely a cat lover.
Why? Well these animals are not only cute and cuddly, they are very
independent, they are intelligent to the fact you can train your
cat just as you could a dog! Teach your kitty to accept a harness
and you will be enjoying the big outdoors together when ever YOU
or YOUR KITTY desires, which won’t be every day! Although
their vet bill may amount to somewhat of a small fortune, there
endless attention and affection for you in my minds eye will always
be my payment. I could not think of a better noise to hear when
you are snuggled up at night in bed listening to the content purr
of your kitty that loves you, and that would probably be the most
noise he will ever make!
Cats
communicate with humans by meowing, and there are always different
meows for different occasions, so if you adore your kitty enough,
you will get to learn what your kitty wants in next to no time at
all!
Athough
some types of breeds of Cats and Dogs definitely do not mind sharing
your house with one another. A great idea is to introduce them when
they are kitten and puppy, where they may end up lifelong pals!
If this isn't possible, introduce them slowly over a period of a
few weeks or months to get used to each other, and to make the encounter
as stress free for your kitty as possible. Always make sure the
introductons are in a controlled environment where you are standing
by for anything that could go wrong.
